Decided to add AdSense to this blog. I don't expect it to generate any revenue, it's more of a proof of concept and a learning experience in case I need to set up AdSense in the future.
Instead of using one of the suggested layouts, I decided to insert a small horizontal banner after every post. To do this, in your Blogger.com settings go to "Layout" tab and "Page elements" sub-tab.
Then edit the "Blog Posts" element. This should pop a window with various properties that can be set for your blog posts (I bet many don't even know that there are so many options in there). Check the "Show Ads Between Posts" mark and pick format, colour and frequency of your ads.
And there you are, nice and simple.
